  18. the fastdir contains a record of all the 'stuff' on disk/hd ect..
  19. ie the 'dir', it keeps this record handy for the computer and other 
  20. progs ie the 'fast' ... we get fastdir

  22. as for it doing something it just sits there and gets read and written to 
  23. by the system.
